Stretch Goal Update
– Sat, May 28, 2022 at 02:09:44 AM
With 5 days remaining, I'm changing the stretch goal.
Originally, I said I'd include Noternus Nights if we hit $2500. That feels overly optimistic.
It's now $2000. If we hit $2000, everyone who's getting a reward gets a copy of the campaign. Please, tell your friends and share it on social media.
Noternus Nights is the serialized campaign and campaign setting for Lords of Eternity. The chapters are released about once/month on Itch and DriveThruRPG. Chapter 4 just came out and it brings Godzilla and shrieking eels into Noternus.
Thanks for backing, thanks for playing, and thanks for your time!

Campaign Update (and a recommendation!)

So, first of all, a huge thank you to everyone who has backed Lords of Eternity so far. We just ticked over the 2/3 mark and I'm excited to see this funded. Thank you!
Second....
I want to talk a little bit about Backwater: City of the Arch. There's a special place in my heart for post-apocalyptica. There are so many ways to envision the aftermath of an apocalypse, and every single one of them is fascinating to me.
Which brings me to Backroads. An expansion to Backwater: Southern Gothic Horror, it's set in a post-apocalypse America, stretching from Arkansas to the Great Lakes but focused in the ruins of St. Louis. Nature has reclaimed the land, and boy is she pissed. Beasts are bigger and meaner, the wilderness is big and scary, and there is room for adventure and exploration as you struggle to survive, thrive, and reclaim both knowledge and technology.
It's an expansion, but Backwater isn't necessary to play it. Backroads is self-contained, and I'm excited to get my hands on it. I recommend checking it out.

Just a quick update...
Last night, I had a great time talking to Mildra the Monk about Lords of Eternity.
Q&A about Lords of Eternity

On Sunday, I did a Q&A about Lords of Eternity with Dan Davenport and the Randomworlds Discord server. We had a great conversation about the world, and the systems, and the history. Take a look.
As always, it would be phenomenal if you could share this campaign on whatever social outlets you use. You'll have my undying gratitude. Or maybe it's my undead gratitude....
Thanks,
Jason
Noternus Nights

I'd like to tell you a little bit about Noternus Nights, the stretch goal serialized campaign and setting. If we hit $2500, everyone who is getting a reward is getting Noternus Nights. (Tell your friends!)
What is it?
It's a campaign setting detailing the planet of Noternus: the history, the cities, the factions, and the people. If you don't want to build your world from scratch, this is great for you. The setting is unveiled more with each chapter of the campaign.
It's a campaign. It's scheduled for 12-15 sessions. The final session will be player-vs-player to find the final Champion. Until this session, betrayal is discouraged. Survival is easiest when you have backup. This is the campaign I'm actually running, so you're getting the polished version.
It's serialized. I'm releasing this one chapter at a time, as I make it and test it. Each chapter of the campaign includes details in the setting, so you can watch the world grow. The release schedule is slightly shorter than monthly.
My Design Philosophy
I write adventures as a skeleton and flesh out the meat at the table. As such, don’t expect incredibly detailed adventures. I will be providing scenes, and enemies, and plot, but you won’t be able to read this campaign and have every eventuality covered. That’s not my style at my own table, I couldn’t imagine making it my style at your table. I am including the first chapter and a sample of the campaign setting free, so you can judge my adventure-writing style for yourself.
As a practical matter, that means each chapter includes enough information for a single session.
You get:
An elevator pitch of the chapter and a detailed summary
3-5 scenes and why those scenes matter
Details on the enemy faction in the spotlight, and the immortals calling the shots
Minions, monsters, and bad guys
Any maps that may be relevant
That comes in 3-5 pages. It's a skeleton with enough meat to run the game, without hiding your creative spark.
That's the first stretch goal and I hope I get a chance to share it with you all. It would be super helpful if you could share the campaign with your friends and gaming groups. If we hit this stretch goal, there will be more coming.
